Volunteer to be a part of the action at Medibank International Sydney 2010.
Volunteers of all ages and with a range of skills are an integral part of running the Medibank International Sydney – one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious tennis events.
In 2009, almost 500 volunteers helped stage the biggest and best Medibank International Sydney yet.
In 2010, we’re looking for volunteers who want to be a part of the excitement that the Medibank International Sydney will deliver to more than 90,000 fans.
Volunteer roles include:
- Spectator services: first point of contact for public as they enter the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre and general assistance throughout the venue including Ken Rosewall Arena and Show Courts.
- Field of play: on court supplies and service. Preparing match and practice courts with towels, water, drinks, umbrellas etc. Courts are set prior to matches commencing and required to be stocked throughout sessions. This role requires a lot of physical lifting.
- Player services: assist with the day to day needs of players and their guests during the event.
- Technology: assisting implementation of all technology aspects, accreditation, statistical analysis and results distribution. It is a requirement of this role that you know the rules of tennis.
- Transport: transport players, guests and officials between official hotels, site and airport transfers.
- Medibank Interactive Zone (Fanfest): assisting a variety of fun interactive activities, where people can play a range of tennis games including speed serving and mini tennis.
- Museum: assisting visitors to the tennis museum by providing information about the displays and helping respond to queries about the history of tennis.
- Media Centre: Assist with day to day operation of the media centre including distribution of media facts, assistance with supplies to the media room.
Volunteers are provided with a uniform, meals whilst working and four tickets to the event (two Ken Rosewall Arena tickets and two ground passes).

- Select the Event Guide tab, followed by the Volunteers link.
- Select the Apply to become a volunteer at Medibank Sydney International 2010 link.
- Select the Apply to job option and progress through the application form.
