Experience the evolution of tennis at the Australian Tennis Museum
Ever wondered what it was like to play tennis back in the early 1900s? “Tevolution – Australian Tennis Adaptations” explores the past, present and future of tennis in Australia. Come look at the evolution of tennis equipment (racquets, balls, clothing and courts) and how these changes have influenced tennis in Australia. With interactive displays and activities, such as Racquet Play (feel the difference between modern day and older racquets) and Virtual Tennis Game Play, there is entertainment for all the family.
The Museum Gift shop boasts an extensive range of tennis memorabilia, whilst Museum patron Ken Rosewall will meet and greet visitors between 11:00am and 1:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Entry to the museum is free, but please consider a gold coin donation to help us cover our costs.

Medibank Challenge and Foundation Cup
Medibank’s support of tennis does not stop at the top. Medibank is the major sponsor of Junior Tennis in NSW, which encompasses over 200 junior tournaments throughout NSW. The Medibank Challenge is one of the most exciting elements of the partnership. This event provides some of the state’s most talented 10/u and 12/u players to contest the Allan Thomson Memorial Trophy in a City vs. Country competition on men’s semifinal day, Friday 15 January.
In addition, Medibank support the Foundation Cup, an event that enables boys and girls from Australia-wide to compete in Sydney during the week of the Medibank International Sydney. They compete in state teams, with the finalists playing off at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre on Thursday 14 January before being presented to spectators on Ken Rosewall Arena.
Serve an Ace for Charity
For the third year running, Medibank and the event’s official charity, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), will again team up to continue the winning ‘Aces for Charity’ partnership.
Aces for Charity sees Medibank donate $100 for every ace served during a selected match each day, with funds going to the JDRF.
